Thank you to the Bart Weisman Trio for coming to our school yesterday for a wonderful presentation on Jazz! Students were able to enjoy a program that spanned the entire history of Jazz, learned some music-related math skills, and even got to dance. This program was made possible by the amazing people at the Cape Cod Symphony and Conservatory. Due to fundraising efforts from the Provincetown Jazz Festival, this program is free to schools.

Orchestrating Attention! Presented by Jeanine Fitzgerald and Falmouth Public Schools SEPAC10/9/2018 The Falmouth Public Schools Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) invites all our Falmouth Public School Parents/Guardians to attend a presentation by Jeanine K. Fitzgerald, Certified Human Behavior Specialist: Orchestrating Attention!
This is a MUST attend event. Jeanine Fitzgerald is one of the leading experts behavior, has consulted with our district before, helped many families and her presentations are amazing, you will not be disappointed. Attention can be thought of broadly as a complex system of brain controls that allows us to energize and regulate our thinking and daily activities. It controls a vast number of individual brain processes that are essential for learning, behaving and relating well to others. It should not be surprising, therefore, that children who have weaknesses in the attention system may possess strong abilities that they are unable to use effectively. Their inability to direct these functions may lead to problems in developing skills, adjusting behavior, and succeeding socially. In order to make clear what is taking place when attention is operating, we define three key control systems that work together to make up the attention control system. This session looks at these controls and proven ways to strengthen them so we do not have to ask, “Why aren't you paying attention to me when I talk to you?” Presenter: Jeanine K. Fitzgerald is a Certified Human Behavior Specialist, a Speaker, Consultant and Trainer. She has worked with thousands of children, professionals and parents across the country. Jeanine draws on more than 35 years of professional experience to empower teachers and parents to achieve more with children “at risk”. With experience as a certified teacher, mental health professional and mother of three grown children, she understands the promise of every child, as well as the diversity of their needs.
