Have you heard of flexible-seating for classrooms? A recent student poll in Mrs. Giardi’s 2nd grade class on “What type of seat helps you LEARN best?”. Your donations make a difference! Some of NFE classrooms have been outfitted with this new “student-centered” seating style thanks to funding from Cape Cod 5, support of the PTO, and even DIY designs from teachers (like Mrs. Giardi’s Disney inspired cushion top crates). Students love their access to seating choices like wobbly stools, wobble cushions, and balance balls. Teachers love the increased focus and engagement of students in the classroom. With your support the PTO hopes to offer more flexible-seating opportunities in more classrooms in the coming year. Your gift has an impact...thank you!

With the help of your donations to the PTO, NFE has made significant technology improvements by implementing interactive whiteboards in all NFE classrooms. Whiteboards make the learning process more fun for students and lesson plans easier for teachers, from vocabulary and math exercises to video and audio engagement, classroom lessons have definitely become more vivid and productive for all.
This is your PTO donation at work! Thank you!! From kindergarten through college, iPads offer educators more diverse methods for teaching and engaging students. With funding from the Falmouth Education Foundation and donations made to the PTO, NFE has been able to purchase iPads giving our teachers and students access to interactive teaching and learning platforms. Thank you for your support! In May 2018, with funding from the PTO and local businesses, Mr. Irving and NFE students began planting our first “edible” garden. Inspired by the 3rd Graders fall field trip to Plimoth Plantation, this garden follows a Native American tradition of being a “three sisters” garden of corn, pole beans and squash. The garden is a true community project as it is tended by students, teachers, parents and local NFE friends. Thank you to our PTO supporters and donations from Cataumet Sawmill for helping to bring Mr. Irving’s vision to life! |
